Terms of use

replaycut is a program you download and run on your own PC. There is no replaycut service, no account and nothing to subscribe to, so there is not much to agree to. This page says it plainly, because the integrations with YouTube and OneDrive ask an application for its terms.

The licence

replaycut is free software under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3. That licence is what governs your use of the program: you may run it for any purpose, study it, change it and pass it on, as long as whoever receives it keeps the same freedoms, source code included. Nothing on this page takes anything away from the licence; where the two disagree, the licence wins.

No warranty, no liability

The program comes as it is, without any warranty, as sections 15 and 16 of the licence spell out. It cuts, encodes and deletes video files on your machine and uploads them where you tell it to. Keep the recordings you care about, and try a setting on something replaceable before you trust it with the clip of the year.

The services you connect

replaycut has no storage and no channel of its own. It uses the accounts you connect: your Nextcloud, your OneDrive, your S3 bucket, your WebDAV server, your YouTube channel, your Discord webhook, your Telegram bot. Each of those has its own terms and its own limits, and they apply to you directly. replaycut only carries the file there on your instruction, and it keeps the credentials for it in your PC's credential store, never on a server of ours – there is none. YouTube

The YouTube integration uses the YouTube API Services. By using it you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can take replaycut's access to your channel away at any time, with “Disconnect” on the YouTube card or in your Google account's security settings. What replaycut does with that access, and nothing more, is listed under “Google user data” on the privacy page.

Updates

replaycut asks GitHub once a day whether a newer release exists and installs one only when you click. It sends nothing about you, and the check can be switched off in the settings. Every release is signed, and the program refuses to install one whose signature does not match.

This website

replaycut.de describes the program and links to its releases on GitHub. It is a page, not a service: nothing here is an offer to run anything for you, and the download button simply leads to the release on GitHub.

Changes

If this page changes, the date below changes with it, and every change is public in the repository of this website.
